Some of you have cooked before and some of you haven’t. The main mission behind this page is to show you how simple food and be and to take the intimidation out of the kitchen. Let’s face it, most culinary shows and blogs, unless they’re BBQ or grilling, focus on women and moms. there’s nothing wrong with that, don’t get me wrong, but where’s a guy to turn if he wants to learn how to braise a nice Osso Bucco for a date night, or pickle those beets his daughter made him grow in the garden? Right here.
This page originally started on “ManCave Radio” in 2012 in the suburbs of DC. The focus of the site, and Dr. Proscuitto, was “dude food”, or easy recipe for dudes to cook on their own without having to worry about getting in over their heads. Eventually “ManCave Radio” closed down, the blog stopped being produced, but the demand for Dr. Prosciutto’s culinary arsenal never faded. Pretty soon, the “Dudes” became “Dads”, and the wives started chiming in asking all kinds of questions and making requests for recipes they can use that the kids will like, or that use only local meats and produce, or the everlasting question “What the hell did my co-op farmer give and what do I do with it?” (I get that one A LOT). In a way I guess you can say the site and it’s content have matured in a way, but still have the old “dude food’ feel to it. Let’s face it, it’s gotta be easy or you won’t do it regularly. It’s gotta be interesting, or else the food gets boring. You gotta be willing to have fun and play with the recipes, or else, there’s no creativity. That being said, get back in the kitchen and play with some food.
